I would like to bring your attention to our Koha migration schedule. Our Go Live date is scheduled for September 7, 2010. The final migration period is called the "Cutover". This is when we do the final move of data from our Dynix system to our Koha system. Prior to this we will have done at least two test migrations and possibly three, so the Cutover should go very smoothly. Our patron records and circulation transactions will be extracted on the evening of Friday, September 3rd and will be processed by LibLime staff over the next 3 days. SCLS ILS staff will be checking the data throughout the weekend.
By doing the circulation Cutover during the Labor Day weekend, we will be minimizing the time that libraries will need to be on Offline Circulation (what we now call PC Reliance). Some libraries will only be on Offline Circulation on Saturday, September 4th. Those libraries open on Sunday, September 5th will use it as well. Then when everyone comes to work on Tuesday, September 7th, we will be up on Koha with all of our bib, item, and patron records and circulation transactions in place.
As we get closer to the final Cutover, we will have more details on what will happen over that exciting weekend. We will also be writing more blog posts on other details of the migration schedule, such as the cataloging cutover phase.
