In April 2017 two LINKcat libraries conducted a pilot project that added a 7-day overdue notice to their Notices set-up.
The new 7-day notice, and "new" 14 and 26 day notices, were created by copying existing notice templates and changing the subject lines to reflect the time frame of the notice:
Notice of Item(s) Overdue - 7 day
Notice of Item(s) Overdue - 14 day
Notice of Item(s) Overdue - 26 day
During the May 9, 2017 Circulation Services Subcommittee meeting, committee members reviewed the pilot project results and made a recommendation to "offer... the option of 7 day notices for everyone (LINKcat libraries) with the understanding that libraries can choose whether or not to print them."
If your library would like to add a 7-day Overdue notice to your Notice Set-up, please submit a work request via the Help Desk Portal.
If a library chooses to opt-in to this option, three overdue notices could potentially be emailed to the patron or generated in the library's print notice index for the patron. Email notices would be automatically sent to the patron; library staff could review their print notices and decide whether or not to print them.
